Subject: new series for me...

Well,

I decided to use my vacation to learn a new sequence. I teach Flow, Power and Astanga yoga.

I learned a new Moon Sequence. Matthew Sweeney is the author of the sequence. Has anyone ever tried it? I did it 3 days in a row last week.

I used it in a power class last week and it was a lot of fun.

Hi Eric,

That poster is so hard to read, even in the expanded view. I'm assuming the repetitions are depictions of both sides (left and right) being done? A lot of it is familiar to me, and I especially like rising up into Trikonasana from Adho Mukha Svanasana (fourth line) as opposed to the "traditional" version of shifting forward and down from Virabhadrasana II. Though organically I would flow from Trikonasana to Parsvakonasana (as it's shown) to Ardha Chandrasana, then maybe square the hips there to Standing Splits, Virabhadrasana III, Virabhadrasana I, Parsvottanasana and finally Adho Mukha Svanasana to finish out the side. But that's just me!

It's really hard to tell what the seated poses are in the second half of the poster, plus there seems to be a lot more than just left and right repetition (is that Viparita Karani without a wall twice in the last line?). If you have any other documentation as to list of the poses, I'd love to see that.

Glad you enjoyed your new sequence, and your vacation as well. Though if you live in sunny Florida, why would you ever need a vacation...?

I got it from the web a few weeks ago and it was not that tiny.

If you want me to send you the file just drop me an email.

As far as your questions: The sequence shows both sides being done. So, you just go from left to right. Although the moon salutes you are suppose to do 5 times. The first two lines.

It feels like a very good gentle practice (but not easy). I like the work you do with lunges and with virasana at the end...

Oh, yes you use the wall at the end of class for viparita Kurani
