Hatha Yoga is NOT a style. It is that branch of Yoga which deals with making body, breathing and mind strong and healthy so that later Meditation can be taken up.

Most of the styles which you are talking about perhaps focus only on exercises and are partially Hatha Yoga.

Hi Neel,

I think that Gaby knows this.

The way that I read his post was that he was making the point that all of the other forums here (Ashtanga, Iyengar, Bikram, Power, Anusara, Kundalini) are all Hatha Yoga so why have this thread?

It's actually a good point! (and you are right as well)

Jonathon

Thank you Jonnie Bhai. I myself felt that one time. In a way keeping Hathayoga separate from all other styles is correct, as these styles are NOT fully Hathayoga, but only a little bit of exercises. For example, when one takes a Yoga Exercise class from a particular style today, they do not get correct understanding of Hathayoga. That is why I gave the Yoga Philosophy Workshop last week.

Also, I do not know why there are threads for Pilates, Massage, etc on the yoga bulletin board?
