| I've been wondering if anyone has had flashes of past lives during their meditation sessions? I have been noticing some strange visions in my practices and I'm not sure how they might relate. |

I might be opening a can of worms here, but I guess this depends on one's definition of meditation and the type of meditation you refer to.

Please define strange.
Why do you doubt that they relate?
Or stated differently: Why do you meditate?

I wouldn't say that it's common but it is definately possible and does happen to some people.
The question to ask though is are they actually glimpses of your past lifes or is it your unconcious mind communicating to you through symbols? and does it really matter?
It is advisable to view these flashes as mere distractions on your path and continue with your practise (assuming you have discussed this with your teacher).
In the grand scheme of things, they are not really important...

| Thoughts like these in meditation are samsaric in nature.
Not until the practice is developed and stable would one expect something different...

| Kaos, I don't understand what you mean by 'samsaric in nature'. I've been having strange, lucid visions that don't seem to be daydreams, mind wanderings or near-sleep dreams. They have a life of their own I just have a sense that they may be past life in nature - I can't be sure but something within senses they are. What should I expect as different as I progress?? |

Because one would have had to reach the level of a Buddha or even a rishi to recall past lives.
But really, to me, it's really not important.
"Samsaric" means arising from karmic traces. Meaning found in these is meaning we project into them.

| This is only my suggestion. If you can not solve your problem easily and soon, just learn the Meditation from a Meditation Teacher.
