Subject: Lot of gas trouble

I am having lot of stomach ache and uneasiness because of gas trouble. Is there any asana that I can perform to alleviate my symptoms? Also does Vamana dhouti help?

When you mention Vamana dhouti, are you refering to the cleansing exercsie which involves drinking salt water and then inducing vomiting?

If so, it's unlikely that this technique will help gas.

Firstly, examine your diet and make any appropriate changes, then practise the asana that Eric recommends.

I would not advise practising any of the shatkarmas/kriyas unless advised and taught by an experienced teacher.

Yes , I am referring to cleansing exercise after drinking salt water. I have performed this few times (once or twice an year) before.. But wasn't sure if this would help with gas problem.

Adho mukha svanasana and Balasana

Do you normally have gas problems or is it something that arises during your yoga practice?

There must be hundreds of ways to approach this problem without induced vomiting. Please be sure you have tried all of them before assuming this practice would be useful to you. Start with seeing a medical doctor and go through all the alternative healers if you need to. Make your diet very "clean" and do a regular asana practice for a good 6 months and let us know how you feel then. Be safe.

Such a thing cannot be fully addressed via asana alone.
