Hey Eric,

I salute you! Truly impressive. I find that I lose my bandhas with each breath during vinyasas, but can sometimes keep UB engaged for a few breaths during, say, downward dog. I sort of consider the constant breath-bandha focus as part of the clearing of the mind.

Congratulations to you too - the sprogs certainly keep you busy (hence my 3 year absence from yoga, which I hope will never be repeated).

It seems to me that no matter what style of yoga one practices, the abdomen should be neither distended nor "hollowed" or sucked up. My experience tells me that all extremes require force and force is violence and the opposite of what we want to practice in our yoga. Aren't we practicing balance? Doesn't balance require both tension and relaxation?
