Speaking of Santa, did you know that the Cinderella story is also as old as the hills and the same story is told throughout different cultures? I wouldn't get too wrapped around any one theory. That's what I've landed on. Every story is the same truth.

I went through this site slightly. I must admit that I have not comprehensively studied the entire site. However, what I saw seems true in the content, but the presentation could be improved.

I think the site's point was something like: "hey yoga is a religion, and in the west, people see yoga as more or less a fitness activity".

Hence jokes such as the "Irish Yoga" t-shirt (shows drunken men passed out in shapes similar to yoga poses"), people calling themselves yogis and yoginis even though they merely do asana practice, etc.

They go on to say something like: you wouldn't see people in an Indian gym practicing, say, Catholic Mass and calling themselves "priests" would you?

I do not think there is any problem in using the term Yoga in gym or anywhere. Those who are doing Yoga Exercise for fitness can say we are doing Fitness related Yoga Exercises. And, those who want to inform people that Yoga actually deals with Other Things such as real meaning of word yoga, etc. they should do so. There is no conflict.
