Subject: Kids Yoga Games

Hello everyone,

I teach a yoga kids class ages 4-8 and I am looking for some suggestions for yoga games to play. I have this one game that's awesome where I play music and the kids dance around and when the music stops I, or a child, yells out a pose and everyone does it and holds the pose until the music plays again. They love this game and it really helps them to remember the poses. I also do a yoga runway where we create a cat walk with the yoga mats and the kids strut their stuff down the runway and when they get to the end, the do a yoga pose and then slap me high-five.

I am trying to come up with more games that aren't competitive in nature. Any suggestions! One great challenge with kids is that you have to work hard at keeping their attention and keeping them interested.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Darlene

Since I do not touch adults in my classes and I believe in NOT touching unnecessarily, I guess, touching and doing poses together into a shape can be very help ful for kids because: they are innocent, and that can develop a spirit of cooperation or friendship.

Let me know how it went.
