Subject: Yandara yoga centre - ?

Hello

I am wondering if anyone has been to, or has insight into, the Yandara Centre on the Baja in Mexico - I am curious about their teacher training programs.

Alternately, has anyone heard about Kevin Durkin or Victor Oppenheimer (both yoga teachers in the Iyengar / Hatha traditions)?

Best,
Lois

Hi Lois--can't help with anything except Victor--this is HIS web site. He and Shannon Brophy started this in 1995.

Here's his link and I know he's be glad to address any questions you have:http://www.yoga.com/ydc/corporate/corporate_document.asp?ID=226&section=11&cat=189

Thank you Bruce,

Yes, I had seen this website before, and he does seem very qualified.

I am hoping, too, to hear some responses from people who have actually experienced him - or the Yandara centre - in person... anyone?

Best,
Lois

I did the yandara yoga teacher training last January. It was easily the best month of my life. The staff includes some of the most amazing, caring people on this Earth. My instructor was Kevin Durkin. He's a little off-putting at first, but he knows his stuff and demands excellence from his students. Between the staff, Kevin's teaching, the food, and the beautiful setting there is no place in the world I would rather be right now. If you have any specific questions about it, please feel free to send me a message. You should do it.
