Subject: where do I go next?

I've been practicing yoga for years with many different DVD's, but they are all for beginners. I'd like to move on to more challanging poses, but I'm not sure which DVD to try next. I'm definantly not an expert, so I need something in the middle somewhere.

Some questions are begged by your post.

Why has the continued use of DVD's been necessary over a period of "years"?
Are there classes available in your area?
If so, have you been avoiding those?
If you have been avoiding them what is your reasoning?

I live in a tiny town not found on most maps, so I don't really have any classes available to me.

Hi Mandilyn!

What type of yoga do you do? What are the DVDs?

Hi Butterfly 7 1,
I have the book & DVD titled Simply Yoga w/ Yolanda Pettinato. I have the AM &PM yoga videos with Patrica walden and Rodney Ye. I have Louise Solomon's Yoga & Pilates DVD, and I have the YBB DVD's and a few others that are yoga intergrated with something else.

Hmmm, I don't have any intermediate dvds (I started with some beginner ones and then started going to studios and now do studio and home practice). But Sean Corn has some Vinyasa yoga dvds for intermediate and Shiva Rhea has some too. Maybe some of the teachers on this forum can help you out more. This website and Gaiam.com have many dvds but it might be best to get advice from an instructor first. Good luck and continue your dedication.

i have some Manouso Manos dvds that include basic/challenging poses, and provide a fairly detailed degree of alignment instruction.

they're pricey...but if you're gonna use them like evrey day and are really interested in growing your practice, why not?

Thank you to everyone who emailed me their responses. I have ordered several new DVD's and I can't wait for them to come in the mail.
