| wondering what all I needed to do to become a Pilates and Yoga Instructor

| first, i don't know what the various pilates requirements are, but like yoga, there's everything form an fake, online certification to intensive years of study.
for yoga, i would suggest first that you develop a daily home practice of yoga and take yoga classes at least once or twice a week for a year. once you have that under your belt, i would suggest asking your teachers what sorts of trainings they recommend. |

| Welcome Megan. What Zoebird said above is certainly the way to go. I'm wondering are you asking aout how to become an instructor recognized by commercial/educational entities that would employ you like private yoga studios and/or the big fitness centers (Spectrum, Lifetime)? |

| All you really need is an open heart and mind. The rest of the stuff will come when it is time.
Teaching should grow from a natural place. Set aside some time for your studies and some time to teach your family or friends. Research what plan will work best with your shedule and stick to a plan. I would carry "light on yoga" everywhere i go and read from it everyday.
When it is time to teach, you'll know.

Location: USA | Well, the two are completely separate so you are going to need two different schooling programs for them. My suggestion is to start with one and then move on to the other. That being said, you should bare in mind the business aspects and developing your practice. Pilates and Yoga are really separate from a business stand point. While its nice to have them both under your belt, financially it may not make a lot of sense unless you plan to start a business that fuses them together |
