Subject: Hello friends

Hi Friends,
Just joined this community of Yogis. My name is Gauri and I am a Kriya Yoga practitioner. I hope to learn more from you all. Though most of the threads here are about postures and all that (Kriya Yoga as far as I know is more about prana, mind, mudras, kundalini than postures) I found these forums interesting and hope that I will visit frequently.

Welcome. I hope there is something here for you.

Relative to Kriya, I suppose it would depend on how one defines it.

If one uses the Bhagavad Gita as a guide, then one examines Krishna's advice to Arjuna to act without attachment to results or fruits of action and activity.

Patanjali refers to Kriya Yoga as the yoga of action.

Paramahansa Yogananda asserts that it is mentally directing the life energy around the nadis in order to hasten the practitioners spiritual development.

Is it not the yoga of selfless acts and cannot that be incorporated into asana? If one makes asana a selfless act is it not then Kriya or Karma yoga?
