| Getting back into martial arts after a layoff and just wanted to know if anyone here practices Yoga and martial arts as well. I am looking for some great poses to really open my hips up. Any suggestions? |

| Look into Shiva Rea's water sequence... I can't think of the name of the DVD right now.. but there is a lot of hip work on that one.
I used to do a muay thai/american boxing hybrid with yoga and they were great together!

| Muay Thai is one of the hardest forms of Kick boxing, it is grwing rapidly all over the worl. it is now a days popular in europe, latin america, australia etc. infact one of the best muay thai boxer is an austrailan by the name of John Wayne Parr. but i havent seen any body who practices yoga professionally with Muay thai as martial arts |

| I started doing both yoga and martial arts at age 12. They work together very well. The psychologist who wrote a book on the reverse wolf (flow) experience says that both martial arts and yoga are among the best way to increase this experience. Both are self mastery exercises.
Then a few years later I got into gymnastics and was more flexible than the gymnasts. Actually the combination makes you more flexible than either one by themselves. |
