| In terms of class planning and keeping a good library of information on hand. What are your favorite books, websites etc.
Thanks!!! |

|
| For class planning I use my training with an occasional reference back to my manual.
For Sanskrit to English translation I use this as a reference.
For on-going study I use the works of Sri Aurobindo, Swami Satchidananda's version of Patanjali's Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, several medical anatomy books, and some of Iyengar's published works. |

|
|
| Books: Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Mahabhaarata, Ramayana, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, original Sanskrit versions with Sanskrit Teachers' transslations.
All the above: Chanting also.
Planning: Meditations of Planning nature. In the past: Only my personal notes of studies.

| I'll go out on a limb here and guess that you are talking primarily about asana sequences. Most of my inspiration for those is my own practice and what I have been currently learning in classes and workshops that I attend.
As far as books go, I am an Iyengar student so those are the books I choose:
The Woman's book of yoga and Health by P. Walden and Lynne Sparrowe
Yoga the Iyengar Way - Mira Mehta, Silva Mehta
Yoga: The Path to Holistic Health by B.K.S. Iyengar - be aware that the therapeutic sequences in this book are not "traditional" Iyengar sequencing
Yoga Your Way by Cindy Dollar has a neat system of divided pages that makes osme nice sequences. |

| in no particular order: Comfortable With Uncertainty: 108 Teachings on Cultivating Fearlessness and Compassion, by Pema Chodron The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, translation and commentary by Sri Swami Satchidananda Anusara Teachers' Manual, by John Friend The Heart of Meditation: Pathways to a Deeper Experience, by Swami Durgananda (Sally Kempton) life |

| Though I have not fully studied the book I am recommending, I have read first few pages of it and given it to my student for reading before me. I Highly Highly recommend the following as the best book in this list. No doubt (for me).
The Woman's book of yoga and Health by P. Walden and Lynne Sparrowe

no "Light on Yoga"??????? |

| Funny you mention Light on Yoga, because I have it and although it is full of a ton of great information I find the format difficult to read and find what I'm looking for. |

| HI fechter - LOY is a fundamental text and I use it and refer to it a lot. But not as an inspiration for creating classes. We have a VERY small library in our studio (it fits into one milk crate) and LOY is always there. I often pull it out to show a photo of the full expression of a pose to my students. |
