Subject: Walking off a hamstring injury

I strained my hamstring about three or four months ago, nothing too serious, more frustrating than anything else. I've had to take it easy with my right leg in half the series and avoid some asana all this time. However, last week i went to paris for a week and was walking about six miles a day on top of my practice. I've just noticed that injury has compleatly cleared up. I figure it must be something to do with using different muscle groups in my leg differently. Basically I've just "walked it off", I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and/or any other cures for muscle strains through different form of excercise. Another benefit from all this walking, I've noticed my legs are much stronger altogether, and that I'm finding backbends much easier as my stronger legs are taking more of the strain off my back.

I had a similar thing happen with my shoulder.
I injured my rotator cuff performing trapeze - it was miserable for a week - had to go really easy in my ashtanga practice. Then i went swimming - the next day it felt improved - so i swam every other day for a week - and it was all better, felt like natural physical therapy.
Its so nice when your body tells you what to do ---- and you can hear it.
