I run on tarmac a lot (it's still dark when I get up) and have also started skipping a lot recently, and my knees seem to be on fire whenever I run or, especially when, I skip. I've been told to lay off running and skipping for a week to let my knees heal up a bit, but can anyone recommend some positions to help me heal up?

Tarmac or tartan?
Tarmac like an airport runway? Or tartan, the rubberize surface used for indoor athletic spaces like gym floors?

Nothing will really help you heal up unless you stop that which is causing the damage.
The approach (in yoga) for knees depends on what is going on in them. Without a diagnosis or an in-person assessment I simply could not tell.
