Subject: Pre Teacher Training Reading...

I will be taking the Teacher Training course in a few months and I was wondering what would be helpful to read before I start... I will have some time to read and I would like to learn and be ready for this training...
Thanks!

I'd recommend starting here: http://www.ashtanga.com/ and http://www.power-yoga.com/
Vinyasa is a derivative of ashtanga as is power yoga.

Well are you looking to read things you will or will not be getting in your training?
Do you have the curriculum of the particular training you fancy and can you tell me how many hours it is and how they are distributed?

You can always use my name. I much prefer it.

I've looked at your link Carson and from their one paragraph description of asana I cannot determine exactly what lineage they are embracing, if any. It seems like a potential student there would be served by looking at asana books from a variety of "disciplines".

Frankly, a description differs a bit from a curriculum. I'd like to know how many asana contact hours a program is offering. And similar information for the other segments requisite for YA certification.

I also am partial to Trail Guide to the Body.

If you're going to go to the trouble to contact Dan Clement then perhaps he could recommend an appropriate asana resource for you in preparation for the TT.

That book sounds exciting to me.
I am going to purchase it.
Thanks, IA.

Is there a required/recommended reading list for your TT? Many I've seen have such a list and some would keep you plenty busy.

If it doesn't, you might browse other TTs on the web and see what they have on their lists for ideas.
