Subject: opening a studio

I've been looking at sites to move my studio to from my house...I've been running into zoning and certificate of occupancy issues which have been really frustrating...does anyone know if in New York City Yoga studios fall into the same category as gymnasiums ?...if this is true I think a lot of studios are operating on an illegal spot and hoping it never comes up...I have an architect looking into it but it takes time and I have already lost 2 potentials spots...does anyone have any knowledge of this ?...it would be greatly appreciated ...thanks
