Subject: Doctoral Research On Meditation

Hello,

My name is Katrina Zaleski and I am conducting research for my PhD dissertation at Northcentral University. The purpose of the study is to examine if there is any difference in satisfaction with life, compassion, and stress between meditators and non-meditators. In addition, this study will examine if meditators who have meditated longer have any difference in satisfaction with life, compassion, and perceived stress than meditators who have meditated for a shorter amount of time.

The only requirements for the study are that you must be 18 years of age or older and you must not have any known mental health disorder. The surveys should take about 10 to 15 minutes.

The data collected in this study is anonymous. Internet safeguards have been put in place to protect your identity on the web.

You have the option of emailing me and I will direct you to the surveymonkey site to take the surveys or you may go directly to this link which will direct you to surveymonkey.

Your participation in my study is extremely valuable and I thank you for your time and energy. I would be happy to answer any questions that may arise about the study. Please direct your questions or comments to:

Hello Katrina,
It's nice to know that you are working for such a noble cause.

I am performing Meditation since 3 years and I must tell you there is great amount of peace in my life once I started Meditation. Earlier, I was suffering from heavy stress in my life and one of my colleagues suggested me to get involved in Yoga, Meditation or similar kind of activity for peaceful life.

With one of the very good reference, I met one very good Yoga and Meditation Guru. His name is Unity. After meeting with him my life completely take turn and I literally felt to get new life.

I highly recommend meeting Guru like Unity for Meditation and related information. Mostly they are very low profile and do not get involved in public life. The best way to get connect with them is to get reference from any of their students.

Hello!

Thank you for the feedback! It's so nice to know that someone is looking at my survey and taking interest. I do hope to show that meditation can be used to help a variety of mental and physical health disorders. Past research has shown meditation to help slow cancer, HIV progression, bipolar disorder, and many more. I am hoping this research is a pathway for even more research.

I am happy to hear that meditation has brought you peace. It sounds like your Guru was important in your change of lifestyle. How did you hear about him?

Do you do meditation and yoga together?

Hi Peter,

Thanks SO much for taking the survey! So far not very many people have taken it but I am hopeful things will perk up soon. Please feel free to send the link to others you feel would be interested as well

I can post the results up on my website (the one you clicked on to get to the surveys) so that it is accessible to everyone. I'm not sure I'm allowed to post directly here in these forums but I'll post the link once I'm done.

Thanks again!

Hi Katrina,

I'm new here, and I've only started meditating for a couple of months... I'd like to participate and somehow find the results, however, the survey seems to be closed already

Dear Friend,

I do not know if you would be interested in this. There is a study going on right now using TM methods with prison inmates and staff conducted at Eastern Oregon Correctional Institute. They are checking some of the same factors/results you are. just fyi. If you want more info I might be able to put you in touch with someone. I am not part of this study. In peace, Annapurna
