I am about to start pursuing YTT and have plans to quit my full-time job in order to become a full-time teacher in the near future. My concern, however, is that full-time teaching might not allow me to continue to comfortably sustain myself and my family. I would love to get your input on the following:

- If you made the switch from a full-time career in a different field to becoming a yoga teacher, what was the greatest challenge you encountered?

- Did you/do you find it feasible for a new teacher to make enough for a comfortable living?

I realize that everyone's experience is different, and I'm certainly ready to teach on a part-time basis, but am exploring my options. Any advice/input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, and Namaste!

Thanks Gordon! That's precisely the kind of info I was hoping to find.

Hi,

Question:
If you made the switch from a full-time career in a different field to becoming a yoga teacher, what was the greatest challenge you encountered?

Answer:
Marketing

Question:
Did you/do you find it feasible for a new teacher to make enough for a comfortable living?

Answer:
Yes, but, probably only because I was a business consultant before becoming a yoga teacher. A bunch of my fellow yoga teachers wanted to know how to do all the marketing/business stuff to help them become full time yoga teachers...so I created a home study marketing course for yoga teachers. You can take a peek at it here:
